Profiles
In their own words, mostly
Each of these pages began as a personal news page — a spot on the old site where anyone in the family could write about their own life. Four of the six people below have since died, which means what they wrote is now the only first-person account of themselves that exists here. That is worth saying plainly.
-

Bucky
Near-photographic memory, MENSA member, and a man who took in every stray that found him. Written by his son.
-
Rad
Thirty years a police officer, then software, a Gold Wing, and a house he built himself on four acres of Georgia woods.
-

Becky
Three acres in Grosse Tête, two sons, a garden, and no intention of ever living in a city again.
-

Leslie
A beach motel a mile north of the Gulf, four children, and five miles a night walked to classical music.
-

Mike
The baby of the clan. Air Force electronics, a career spent repairing things, and a daughter named Angela.
-

Pokey
On the Amite River in Baton Rouge, and the family’s other website-keeper.
Want a page?
The offer that has stood since 2004 still stands. If you are a Delaroderie by blood or by marriage and you want your own page here, write a few paragraphs about your life — whatever you would want a grandchild to read — and send it in with a photograph.
