News - Becky...

___________________________________________________________

My life has always been in constant motion. This is the only way I can describe the many phases and changes I have been through in my 51 years.

I was born in Baton Rouge, La. in 1953. I graduated from Baton Rouge High School in 1971. I have been married twice (first to James Myron Prather, and second to Gary Michael Hebert) and divorced twice. Now I am single and have been for a very long time.

I have two sons: Stephen Myles Prather and Aaron James Prather. It is my joy to watch their lives progress, and watch them go where they can in life. Myles (32 as of 2004) was married last year and survived a vicious cancer. Aaron (26) was recently engaged and I look forward to his marriage. Both are very successful and just plain wonderful people.

I live in Grosse Tete, La. I own 3 acres of land and my home, and probably could never live in the “city” again. The simple joys of living in the country are what sustain me now. I work full time as a cashier and manager of a Shell Station right here in Grosse Tete. I love to garden and cook and visit with my boyfriend Jimmy.

Jimmy and I go camping as often as we can in his fifth wheel camper (really a traveling hotel room with all the luzuries). I live alone and do not have grandchildren yet, and am delighted to spend all of my free time at home in Becky-world.

In the years since Becky wrote the above, she gained a grand-daughter that she adored, and moved in with Jimmy at his home. Then, on August 12, 2016, after many years of significant cardiac/respiratory issues, Becky passed away quietly in her home.
